Delete your Drime account and all its data from the Security settings. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, so download your files first.

Deleting your account permanently removes it with all its data: your files and folders, including those you shared, and your active subscriptions. The deletion is immediate. There is no grace period and no way to recover the account afterwards. Drime keeps some data only as long as its legal, regulatory and contractual obligations require (see the [privacy policy](https://drime.cloud/privacy-policy)).

> **Danger**
>
> Download everything you want to keep before you start. Drime has no built-in export of a whole account, and nobody can restore a deleted account.

If you only want to stop paying, you do not need to delete your account: see [Cancel your subscription](https://drime.cloud/support/plans-and-billing/cancel-your-subscription).

## Keep a copy of your data first

- Your files: download them from your Drive. Several files or a folder download as a ZIP file. See [Download files and folders](https://drime.cloud/support/drive/download-files-and-folders).
- Your Vault: download its files from the Vault itself, where they are decrypted in your browser.
- Your other personal data: email [contact@drime.cloud](mailto:contact@drime.cloud) with an access or portability request. Drime answers within 30 days. See [Your data and GDPR](https://drime.cloud/support/security-and-privacy/your-data-rights).

Do this before you delete the account: afterwards, nothing can be recovered.

## Delete your account on the web

1. At the top right, click your avatar, then **Settings**.

2. Click **Security**, then scroll down to **Delete Account**.

3. Click **Delete account**.

4. In the **Delete your account** dialog, enter your password in **Confirm your password**.

If two-factor authentication is on, also enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app in **Two-factor authentication code**. A recovery code also works there.

Your account is deleted right away, and you are removed from the workspaces you belong to.

## Delete your account in the mobile app

In the Drime app on your phone, go to **Settings** \> **About**, then tap **Delete account**.

## If it doesn't work

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **The password you entered is incorrect.** | Enter the password of your Drime account. If you forgot it, [reset it](https://drime.cloud/support/getting-started/reset-your-password) first. |
| **Two-factor authentication code is required.** | Two-factor authentication is on: enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or a recovery code. |
| **The two-factor authentication code is invalid.** | Type a fresh code from the app, or a recovery code. If you no longer have either, see [I lost access to my two-factor codes](https://drime.cloud/support/security-and-privacy/lost-2fa-codes). |
