# Choose which folders sync to your computer

With Drive folder selection, choose which of your Drime folders appear on this computer. Unchecked folders stay safe in Drime.

You do not have to have all your Drime folders on every computer. **Drive folder selection** lets you choose which ones appear here.

## Choose the folders

1. Open the Drime window from the notification area, then the account menu \> **Preferences** \> **Sync**.

2. Under **Drive folder selection**, click **Choose folders**.

3. In **Choose folders to sync**, tick the folders you want on this computer and untick the others.

4. Click **Apply**, then **Apply changes**.

   The confirmation **Apply selective sync changes?** says that newly excluded folders will be removed from this computer, that anything not yet uploaded is moved to the **Drime Rescue Folder** instead of being deleted, and that re-included folders will be downloaded again.

Unchecked folders are removed from this computer but remain safe in your Drime cloud. In **Preferences** \> **Storage**, they appear as **Hidden from this device**. If you tick a folder again later, it is downloaded again.

Under **Drive folder selection**, Drime then shows how many folders are left out, for example **2 folder(s) excluded from sync**, or **All Drive folders are synced on this computer.**

You can also get there from **Preferences** \> **Storage** \> **Hide or show folders**.

> Drive folder selection is different from the **Folder sync** page of the same settings. **Folder sync** links a folder anywhere on your computer to a Drime folder: see [Sync a folder from anywhere on your computer](https://drime.cloud/support/desktop/sync-any-folder).
