**Can I lock a file?**

No. Drime has no file lock or check-out for the files in your Drive. To keep others from changing a file, control what they can do with it, as below.

**How do I stop people from changing a file?**

Share it with **Can view** or **Can Download** instead of **Can edit**. For someone who already has access, open **Share** on the file and change their access level.

![The Share dialog with the access menu of a person open on the access levels](https://drime.cloud/media/01M590MMCZE43A2JCGABVQ9P8C/227aa43ad663-web-share-dialog-member-menu.png)

See [Change or remove access and stop sharing](https://drime.cloud/support/sharing-and-collaboration/manage-access-and-stop-sharing).

**And in a team workspace?**

The workspace owner can hide a file or folder from chosen members with **Restrict access**. See [Manage files in a workspace and restrict access](https://drime.cloud/support/workspaces/files-in-a-workspace).

**What if someone already changed my file?**

Earlier versions are kept: right-click the file, choose **File versions** and restore the one you want. See [Restore a previous version of a file](https://drime.cloud/support/drive/restore-a-previous-version).

**Is there any lock in Drime?**

Yes, for your Vault: it locks itself or when you lock it, and opens only with your Vault Pass. See [Unlock and lock your Vault](https://drime.cloud/support/vault/unlock-and-lock).
