# Convert a file to another format

Convert an image, audio, video, document or ebook to another format from the right-click menu in Drime, and what to know about large files.

You can convert images, audio, video, documents, ebooks and more, straight from your Drive.

## Convert a file

1. Right-click the file.

2. Choose **Convert to**, then the format you want.

**File converted!** confirms it. Simple image and audio conversions run in your browser. The other conversions work for files up to 5 GB.

## A video that won't play

If a video won't play because your browser can't read its format, the player offers **Convert in this browser**: **Converting happens on your device and can take a few minutes.** See [A file won't open or play](https://drime.cloud/support/drive/file-format-support).

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| The format you want isn't in the list | Only the formats listed for that type of file can be produced. |
| The file is bigger than 5 GB | Conversions other than simple image and audio ones work up to 5 GB. |
