# Print a file

Print images, PDFs, text and code files from their preview in Drime, and Word, Excel and PowerPoint files from the Office editor.

You can print images, PDFs, text and code files and RTF documents straight from their preview. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files print from the Office editor.

## Print from the preview

1. Double-click the file to open its preview.

2. Click **Print** in the preview.

   For a PDF, it's the printer button in the toolbar. Your browser's print dialog opens.

3. Choose your printer and settings, then print.

**Print** is offered for images, PDFs, text and code files, and RTF documents. For other types, download the file and print it from an app on your computer. See [Download files and folders](https://drime.cloud/support/drive/download-files-and-folders).

## Print a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file

Office files open in the Office editor inside Drime: print them with the editor's own print command. Printing there needs the right to download the file.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| There is no **Print** in the preview | The file type can't be printed from the preview, or you opened a share link whose owner turned downloads off: printing is then off too. Ask the owner to allow downloads. |
| You can't print from the Office editor | Printing follows the right to download the file. See [Office document problems](https://drime.cloud/support/troubleshooting/office-document-problems). |
