# Sort files and change the view

Show your Drime files as a grid, a large grid or a list, sort them by name, date, size or type, and choose the columns. What Drime remembers, and where.

## Change the view

Above the file list, choose **Grid**, **Large grid** or **List**. `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `V` (`Cmd` + `Option` + `V` on a Mac) switches between list and grid.

## Sort

1. Above the file list, open **Sort**.

2. Choose what to sort by: **Name**, **Size**, **Owner**, **Last modified**, **Upload date**, **Type**, **Extension** or **Custom**.

   **Last modified**, newest first, is the default.

3. Choose **Ascending** or **Descending**.

In a folder, folders always come first, before the files. In search results, files and folders are mixed.

## Choose the columns

In list view, open **Columns** to show or hide **Owner**, **Last modified**, **Type**, **Size**, **Date added** and **Location**.

## What Drime remembers

The view and the sort are remembered for each folder, and the columns for all folders, in this browser only. On another computer, phone or browser, you choose them again.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | Why |
| --- | --- |
| The view or sort is different on another device | They are saved in the browser where you chose them. |
| Folders stay on top whatever the sort | In a folder, folders always come first. |
