# Create a family

Create your Drime Family from Settings > Family or the launch banner, name it, and become its manager. What the family console holds, and common errors.

Create a family to share your plan's storage with your household. You become its manager.

> **Note**
>
> You can create a family if your plan includes Drime Family: a Lifetime plan of 3 TB or more, or Professional or Advanced through the launch offer, for 30 days from October 19, 2026. You can only be in one family at a time. See [Family billing and the launch offer](https://drime.cloud/support/family/family-billing).

## Create your family

1. At the top right, click your avatar, then **Settings**, and choose **Family**.

   On Professional and Advanced, during the launch offer, you can also click **Activate Drime Family** on the banner at the top of your Drive.

2. Click **Set up my family**.

   The family page opens on **Create your family**.

3. Optional: in **Family name (optional)**, type a name, for example "The Martin family".

   Up to 80 characters, with no web address. Left empty, the family is called "The" followed by your last name and "family".

4. Click **Create my family**.

   **Your family is ready** confirms it. You are the manager, and the family console opens.

## The family console

| Tab | What it is for |
| --- | --- |
| **Overview** | What needs your attention (To do), the family storage and recent activity. |
| **Members** | Roles, storage limits, parental controls. See [Invite or remove family members](https://drime.cloud/support/family/manage-family-members). |
| **Invitations** | Pending invitations and their links. |
| **Storage** | Limits per person. See [Family storage and asking for more space](https://drime.cloud/support/family/family-storage). |
| **Family Room** | The family's shared workspace. See [The Family Room](https://drime.cloud/support/family/family-room). |
| **Activity** | What happened in the family. |
| **Settings** | Family name, products, security, e-mails. See [Family settings and trusted contact](https://drime.cloud/support/family/family-settings). |

## If it doesn't work

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Drime Family comes with selected plans. Your current plan does not include it.** | Your plan cannot create a family. **See plans** shows the plans, or ask a family manager to invite you. |
| **Your plan does not include Drime Family.** | Same cause: your plan cannot create a family, but you can join one. |
| **You are already part of a family.** | You can be in one family at a time. [Leave it](https://drime.cloud/support/family/leave-a-family) first. |
| **Web addresses cannot be added here.** | Remove the link from the family name. |
