As the manager, you can make another adult member of the family its manager. You stay in the family as a member.

> **Important**
>
> The family storage and everyone's features then come from the new manager's plan. If their plan does not include Drime Family, the family is paused until it does, and nothing is deleted. If their plan allows fewer people, nobody new can join until there is room.

## Hand the family over

1. In the family console, open **Members**.

2. On the person's row, open the role menu and choose **Manager**.

4. Confirm it is you.

Drime always asks for your password here, plus a code if you use two-factor authentication.

**The family has a new manager** confirms it.

## What changes

- The family storage and everyone's features now come from the new manager's plan.
- You stay in the family as a member, with your own space.
- The Family Room stays your workspace and its members keep access, but it is no longer the family's room.
- Your trusted contact is cleared.
- Everyone is told by e-mail.

To plan for a long absence instead, you can name a trusted contact who can ask to take over. See [Family settings and trusted contact](https://drime.cloud/support/family/family-settings#trusted-contact).
