Air Explorer is a program for Windows and Mac that shows several cloud services side by side, in a file explorer. It supports Drime: you can browse your Drime files next to your other clouds and folders, sync folders, keep backup copies, move files between clouds and encrypt files before they reach Drime.

Air Explorer is made by its own developer, not by Drime: for help with the program itself, see [Air Explorer's Drime page](https://www.airexplorer.net/en/manage-sync-and-back-up-drime/).

## Add your Drime account

These steps follow Air Explorer's page. Its screens may change between versions.

1. Download and install Air Explorer on your Windows PC or Mac, from the developer's website.

2. In Air Explorer, open the accounts window from the toolbar.

3. Choose **Drime** in the list of supported clouds.

4. Sign in with your Drime email address and password.

Your Drime storage then appears in Air Explorer as a new disk.

> **Note**
>
> Air Explorer's page does not say whether accounts with two-factor authentication can sign in this way: if it is on for your Drime account, check with Air Explorer. See [Turn on two-factor authentication](https://drime.cloud/support/security-and-privacy/two-factor-authentication).

## What you can do

| Feature | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Browse | Open your Drime files and folders in an explorer, next to your other clouds and your computer's folders. |
| Sync | Keep a folder of your computer and a Drime folder in step, in one direction (mirror) or both directions. A scheduler runs sync tasks daily, weekly or at your own interval, in the background, with logs. Several tasks can run at once, and they can be started from the command line. |
| Back up | Keep an offline copy of your Drime files on your computer or an external drive, or copy them to another cloud. |
| Copy between clouds | Drag files between Drime and another service, for example to move from Dropbox or Google Drive to Drime. Air Explorer copies them through memory, so they do not fill your computer's disk. |
| Encrypt | Upload files encrypted with a password you choose in Air Explorer. |

## Encrypted files in Drime

Files you encrypt with Air Explorer are stored in Drime like any other file, but they can be read only through Air Explorer, with the password you chose: the Drime apps cannot preview or open them. Keep that password safe.

For files Drime encrypts itself, on your device, use the [Vault](https://drime.cloud/support/vault/what-is-vault).

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Air Explorer does not accept your Drime email and password | Check that you can sign in on the Drime website with them. If you forgot your password, see [Reset a forgotten password](https://drime.cloud/support/getting-started/reset-your-password). If two-factor authentication is on, check with Air Explorer whether it supports it. |
| **Drime** is not in Air Explorer's list of clouds | Update Air Explorer to its latest version. |
| Uploads or syncs to Drime fail | Your Drime storage may be full. See [Check and free up storage space](https://drime.cloud/support/drive/check-and-free-up-storage). |
| A file you encrypted with Air Explorer cannot be opened in Drime | This is expected: it can be read only through Air Explorer, with the password you chose. |
