# Sync deletions between your phone and Drime

In recent versions of the Drime app, photo backup can also sync deletions, so a photo you delete on your phone or in Drime is deleted on both.

In recent versions of the Drime app, photo backup can also sync deletions: **A photo deleted on this phone or in Drime is deleted on both.** It is off by default.

## Turn on Sync deletions

1. Tap your avatar at the top left, then **Auto-upload**.

2. Turn on **Sync deletions**.

3. Read **Sync deletions?**, then tap **Turn on**.

   **Photos you delete on this phone go to the Drime trash. Photos you delete in Drime are removed from this phone after you confirm.**

## What happens next

- A photo you delete on your phone goes to the Drime trash. You can still restore it from there: see [Restore or delete files from the trash in the app](https://drime.cloud/support/mobile/trash).
- When photos were deleted in Drime, the app asks first, under **Deleted in Drime**, whether to remove them from your phone too. Tap **Remove** to delete them from the phone, or **Keep on phone** to keep them.

If you allowed Drime to see only some of your photos, deletions are not synced.

A photo you delete from Drime is not backed up again, whether or not Sync deletions is on.
