# Write faster with AI in Pages

Use Drime AI in Pages to improve, shorten, translate or summarise text, continue writing, and generate outlines, ideas or action items.

Drime AI helps you write in Pages: it can rework the text you select, or write new content where your cursor is.

## Open Drime AI

- Select some text, then click **Ask AI** in the toolbar that appears.
- Or type `/`, then choose **Ask AI**.
- Or press `Ctrl` + `J` to ask at the cursor.

Then choose an action, or type your own request in **Ask Drime AI to edit or write…**.

## Rework selected text

These actions rework the text you selected:

- **Improve writing**
- **Fix spelling & grammar**
- **Summarize**
- **Make longer** and **Make shorter**
- **Simplify writing**
- **Translate**: choose the language in **Translate into**.

## Write new content

These actions write new text:

- **Ask AI Anything**: ask a question or give an instruction.
- **Explain**
- **Continue writing**
- **Generate action items**
- **Create an outline**
- **Brainstorm ideas**

## Choose a style and a level of creativity

Before you send a request, you can pick a style, such as **Professional style**, **Simple style** or **Casual style**, and a level of creativity: **Low creativity**, **Moderate creativity** or **High creativity**.

## Use the answer

When the answer is ready, choose what to do with it:

- **Replace with this answer** to put it in place of your selection;
- **Insert below** to add it under your text;
- **Regenerate** to get another answer;
- **Copy** to copy it.

Click **Stop generating** to stop an answer that is being written.

Drime AI is not available on locked pages or pages you can only read.

## Ask Drime AI about the whole page

At the top of the page, click **Drime AI** (**Drime AI: ask about this page, or have it change the page**). A panel opens beside the page.

- On a page with content, the panel shows **Your AI, on this page**: **Ask anything, or tell it what to change.**
- On an empty page, it shows **What should I build?**: **Describe the page you want and it gets built, blocks and databases included.**

Type your request and send it. Under an answer, you can **Copy** it or click **Try again**. Click **New chat** to start a new conversation, or **Close** to close the panel. The panel reminds you: **Private & European AI**.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Something went wrong.** | Click **Try again**, or **Close** and ask again. |
| **The assistant stopped answering. Try again.** | Send your request again in the Drime AI panel. |
| **Ask AI** does not appear | The page is locked, or you can only read it. If you own the page, click the **More** button (⋯), then **Unlock page**. |
