# Earn free storage by inviting friends

Share your Drime invite link. When a friend signs up and verifies their email, you both get extra storage for a limited time.

Invite your friends to Drime with your personal link. When a friend signs up with it and verifies their email address, you both get extra storage for a limited time, up to a maximum.

## Share your invite link

1. At the top right, click your avatar, then **Settings** \> **Invite friends**.

   You can also click **Affiliates** in the bar on the left.

2. Under **Your invite link**, click **Copy link**.

3. Send the link to your friends.

   **Copy link** changes to **Copied** once the link is in your clipboard.

The page tells you how much storage each invite earns, for how long, and the maximum you can earn: the amounts shown there are the ones that apply to your account.

### Who counts as an invite

- Your friend must create their account from your link: open it, then sign up. Drime remembers the invite for a limited time after they open the link, in that browser. An account created another way is not linked to you.
- Your friend must then verify their email address. Until then, the bonus is not credited.
- One account per person: inviting yourself, or creating extra accounts, does not earn storage.

## Follow your invites

**Storage earned** shows the storage you have earned so far, out of the maximum, with the number of invites confirmed and pending. **Each bonus lasts** reminds you how long each bonus lasts.

**People you've invited** lists your invites with their status:

- **Waiting for email verification** (**Pending**): your friend signed up but has not verified their email yet. The bonus is not credited yet.
- **Joined · bonus credited** (**Confirmed**): the bonus has been added to both accounts.
- **Joined · bonus expires** and a date (**Confirmed**): the bonus is active until that date.

A friend whose account has no first name appears as **Anonymous friend**. Before your first invite, the list shows **No invites yet. Share your link to get started.**

## When a bonus ends

Each bonus lasts for the period shown on the page, counted from the day it was credited: bonuses from different friends end on different dates. When a bonus ends, its storage is removed from both accounts.

If your files then take more space than your storage:

- nothing is deleted, and your files stay where they are;
- uploads stop until you free up space or upgrade your plan.

Once you reach the maximum, new friends who join still appear as **Confirmed**, but your storage no longer grows. They still get their own bonus.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Unable to load your referral data right now. Please try again later.** | The page could not load your invites. Reload it a little later. |
| Your friend stays on **Waiting for email verification** | Your friend has not verified their email address yet. Ask them to open the verification email Drime sent them, and to check their spam folder. |
| Your friend signed up but is not in the list | They did not create their account from your link, or too long after opening it, or in another browser. The app has no way to add an invite afterwards. |
| **Storage earned** no longer grows | You reached the maximum shown on the page. |
