# What is Send & Track?

Send & Track turns a share link into a tracked link and shows who viewed your file, for how long and how much of it. What it records and what plans include.

Send & Track turns a share link into a tracked link. When someone opens the file, Drime records the visit, so you can see when your document was viewed, from where, for how long and how much of it was read.

## What it records

For each visit:

- the visitor's location, device, browser and operating system;
- where the visit came from (the referring site and any UTM tags in the link);
- the time spent on the document and how much of it was viewed, page by page for PDFs;
- whether the file was downloaded.

Bots are not counted, and repeat visits by the same person within 30 minutes count as one.

## The dashboard

**Send & Track** gathers your tracked files. For each one, it shows the number of **Views**, **Unique visitors** and **Downloads**, the average share of the document that was viewed, and the average viewing time. You can **Export** the statistics. For a PDF, **Time spent per page** shows how long each page was viewed. On the page of a file, **Conversion funnel** shows how visitors progress from opening the document to downloading it.

A file can have several tracked links, for example one per recipient, so you can tell their visits apart.

## Start tracking a file

- From **Tools** \> **Send & Track**, pick a file or a folder.
- Or open the settings of an existing share link and turn on **Track file**.
- Or, with Drime Desktop for Windows, right-click a file in your Drime folder, point to **Drime**, then choose **Send and track**.

## Protect what you send

Tracked links can also ask for the visitor's email before showing the file, require them to accept your terms, add a watermark with their email, or email you at each view.

## Privacy

Visitors are recognised without cookies, with an identifier that changes every day.
