Leave comments on a file, pin them to a spot in an image or a moment in a video, mention someone with @ and resolve the discussion when it is done.

Comments let you discuss a file where it is, without sending messages back and forth. Everyone who has access to the file can take part.

## Add a comment

1. Open the file to preview it.

2. Open the **Comments** sidebar.

3. Write your comment and send it.

You can also:

- pin a comment to a point or an area of the file, or add a drawing;
- on a video, attach the comment to a moment of the timeline;
- reply to a comment, like it or react with an emoji.

## Mention someone

Type **@** in a comment, then choose the person. You can mention anyone who has access to the file, or a member of the workspace.

The person always receives a notification in Drime and an email, **… mentioned you on …**, whatever their notification settings.

## Resolve a discussion

When a comment has been dealt with, open its menu and choose **Mark as resolved**. Choose **Reopen** to bring it back. To see what is left to do, sort the comments with unresolved ones first.

## Who is notified

- When someone comments, the owner and the people who have access to the file are notified.
- When someone replies to your comment, you are notified.

## Good to know

- Only the author of a comment can edit or delete it.
- People who open the file through a share link can read and post comments too. Their comments appear under the name **Guest**.
