Turn on automatic reminders, choose how often they go out, set a signing deadline or a default expiration, and remind a signer by hand in Drime Sign.

Drime Sign can remind your signers by email until they sign, and stop the request at a date you choose. You set both in the last step of a signature request, **Review and send**.

## Turn on automatic reminders

1. In the **Review and send** step, check that **Automatic reminders** is on.

   It is on by default.

2. In **Reminder interval**, choose how often a reminder goes out.

The choices are **Every day**, **Every 2 days**, **Every 3 days** or **Every week**. The default is every 3 days.

3. Click **Send**.

### Who gets a reminder

- Reminders go by email to every signer who has not signed or declined yet.
- With a signing order, only the signer whose turn it is gets a reminder. See [Choose the order in which people sign](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/signing-order).
- Reminders stop when everyone has signed, when the request expires, or when a signer declines.

Each reminder is written to the request's audit trail.

## Set a deadline

In **Review and send**, pick a date in **Deadline (optional)**. The date must be in the future.

When the deadline passes and the request is still pending:

- the request becomes **Expired** and moves to the **Expired** tab of your Sign dashboard;
- the signing link no longer works. Signers who open it see **This signing link has expired**.

## Set a default expiration for all your requests

If you often use the same deadline, set it once:

1. Go to **Tools** \> **Sign**, then click **Preferences**.

2. On the **General** tab, under **Default expiration**, choose a **Duration**.

   The choices are **None**, or 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 or 180 days.

3. Click **Save**.

The default expiration applies to the requests you send without a deadline. A deadline set in **Review and send** always wins.

## Remind a signer now

1. In **Tools** \> **Sign**, open the pending request.

2. Next to the signer, click **Remind**.

**Reminder sent** confirms it. The signer receives a new email with their link.

**Remind** shows for a signer who has not signed yet, while the request is pending.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| A signer sees **This signing link has expired** | The deadline has passed. Send the document again in a new request, with a later deadline or none. |
| A signer gets no reminders | Check that **Automatic reminders** was on when you sent. With a signing order, only the current signer is reminded. Ask the signer to look in their spam folder. |
| **Remind** is missing next to a signer | The signer has already signed or declined, or the request is no longer pending. A signer who declined can be invited again with **Resubmit**: see [When a signer declines](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/when-a-signer-declines). |
