# Share a signing link yourself

Copy each signer's own signing link to send it by chat or text, give it a custom address or a password, and reset a link that went to the wrong person.

Each signer has their own signing link. Instead of letting Drime email it, you can copy it and send it yourself, by chat, text message or any other way.

## Copy a signer's link

1. In the **Fields** step, click the arrow next to **Send by email**, then **Share the link**.

**Share signing link** opens: **Send this link to your signer to collect their signature.**

2. Choose the signer, then click **Copy link**.

**Link copied to clipboard** confirms it. Under the link, Drime shows the name of the signer it belongs to.

3. Send the link to that signer.

Copying the first link sends the request, without any email: it moves from **Drafts** to **Pending**. Send each signer their own link: each link belongs to one signer, and whoever opens it signs as that signer.

## Give the link a custom address or a password

1. In **Share signing link**, click **Manage**.

   **Link settings** opens.

2. To choose the end of the address, turn on **Custom link**, then type it.

The option reads **Use a personalised URL for this signer**. The address takes 3 to 60 characters: letters, digits, hyphens and underscores.

3. To protect the link, turn on **Password protect**, then type a password.

The option reads **Require a password before the signer can view this document**. The password needs at least 4 characters.

4. Click **Save**.

**Link settings saved** confirms it. A protected link shows **Password protected**.

Send the password to the signer separately from the link. When they open the link, they read **The sender has protected this signing link with a password.** and type it.

When a password is already set, the field says **A password is currently set. Leave empty to keep it.**

## Reset a link

If a link went to the wrong person, click **Reset link** in **Share signing link**. **Link reset** confirms it: the signer gets a new link, and you copy and send it again.

Every link copy and every change to a link is written to the request's audit trail.

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **This custom link is reserved.** | Some words are kept for Drime's own pages (such as sign, templates, verify, api, drive, admin, login or settings). Choose another one. |
| **This custom link is already taken.** | Another signer's link already uses it. Add a word or a number to make it unique. |
| **Could not save link settings** | Check the custom link (3 to 60 characters, letters, digits, hyphens and underscores) and the password (at least 4 characters), then click **Save** again. |
| The signer cannot open the document | Check that they use their own link, and give them the password if the link is protected. |
