You can sign a PDF yourself, without sending it to anyone. Signing yourself is unlimited on every plan and never counts toward your signature requests.

## Prepare the document

1. In your Drive, click **Signature** in the row of actions above the file list.

You can also click **New** \> **Modify** \> **Sign** \> **Sign yourself**, or, with Drime Desktop for Windows, right-click a PDF, DOC, DOCX or PNG file in your Drime folder, point to **Drime**, then choose **Self-sign**.

2. In **Choose a PDF or image to sign**, select the file, then click **Choose**.

You can also upload a file from your computer with **Upload files**. PDF, PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP files are accepted, up to 50 MB each; images become PDF.

3. On **Which signature level?**, keep the level offered, then click **Continue**.

4. On **Who should sign?**, click **I am the only signer**.

5. Place your fields on the document: your signature, and the date or initials if you need them.

In a phone's browser, fields cannot be placed: Drime shows **Place fields on a larger screen**. Use a computer, a tablet, or the Drime mobile app, which has its own step to place fields.

6. Click **Sign**.

## Sign

1. Click **Start** to go to your first field.

2. Click the signature field, then choose how to create your signature.

**Draw** it with your mouse or finger, **Type** your name, or **Upload** an image of your signature.

You can also save your signature and initials in **Settings** \> **Signature**.

3. Fill in the other fields the same way.

4. On **Ready to sign?**, click **Finalize**.

Accept the terms of service and the privacy policy first.

**Done!** confirms it. Your document is sealed and timestamped.

## Download the signed document

When the signature is done, choose **Download the signed document**, **Download the audit trail**, or **Download all the documents and the audit trail**.

To find it again later, see [Follow and download signed documents](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/track-and-download-signed-documents).

## If it doesn't work

| What you see | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| **Document exceeds the 50MB limit** | The document is over 50 MB. Compress it or split it, then try again. |
| **Place fields on a larger screen** | Fields cannot be placed in a phone's browser. Continue on a computer, a tablet or in the Drime mobile app. |
| **Finalize** does nothing | Accept the terms of service and the privacy policy first, then click **Finalize** again. |
