# A signer cannot sign or did not receive the request

The invitation email never arrived, the link has expired, the code does not work or it is not the signer's turn: find the cause and fix it in Drime Sign.

Most signing problems come from an email that did not arrive, a link that is no longer valid, or a verification code. Start from what the signer sees, then follow the matching fix.

In **Tools** \> **Sign**, open the request: each signer's status shows where they stand, and **Email activity** shows whether the invitation emails were opened.

**Checks**

1. Is the request still **Pending**? A request that is **Expired**, or that a signer declined, can no longer be signed.
2. Is the signer's email address right? Check it under **Signers** in the request.
3. Is it the signer's turn? With a signing order, only the current signer can sign.

**How to fix it**

### The signer did not receive the email

Ask the signer to look in their spam folder. Then click **Remind** next to them: **Reminder sent** confirms a new email.

You can also copy their link with **Link** next to their name, and send it yourself. See [Share a signing link yourself](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/share-a-signing-link).

### The link says it has expired

**This signing link has expired** means the deadline has passed. Send the document again in a new request, with a later deadline or none. See [Set reminders and a deadline for a signature request](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/reminders-and-deadline#deadline).

### It is not the signer's turn

**It is not your turn to sign yet.** means an earlier signer in the signing order has not signed. Remind the current signer. See [Choose the order in which people sign](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/signing-order).

### The verification code does not arrive or does not work

The signer clicks **Didn't get the code? Try again** to get a new one. **Invalid signing code.** means a typo; **Too many attempts. Request a new signing code.** means 5 wrong codes: they ask for a new code. See [Verify your signers' identity with a code](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/verify-signers#problems).

### The link asks for a password

**The sender has protected this signing link with a password.** Send the signer the password you set, separately from the link. To remove or change it, see [Share a signing link yourself](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/share-a-signing-link#settings).

### The signer declined by mistake

Click **Resubmit** under the signer: they receive a new invitation and can sign. See [When a signer declines](https://drime.cloud/support/sign/when-a-signer-declines#resubmit).

### The signer says they already signed

**You have already signed this document.** confirms their signature is recorded. The request stays **Pending** until every signer has signed.

**Still stuck?**

If the problem stays, [contact Drime support](https://drime.cloud/support/getting-started/contact-drime-support) with the name of the document and the email address of the signer.
