The roles members can have in a Drime workspace, which permissions a role can combine, and how to create your own roles.

Each member of a workspace has a role. The role decides what the member can do in the workspace.

## The roles

- **Workspace Owner**: the person who created the workspace. They can do everything, and their role cannot be changed.
- Default roles, marked **Default** in the admin console. Their permissions are set by Drime and cannot be edited. The console describes them this way:

  - **Workspace Admin**: Manage workspace content, members, settings and invite new members.
  - **Workspace Editor**: Add, edit, move and delete workspace files.
  - **Workspace Contributor**: Add and edit files.

## Create your own roles

In the admin console, open **Roles** and click **Add new role**. A custom role combines permissions such as:

- invite, update and remove members;
- view, create, update, delete and download files;
- create a Vault.

A member whose role allows inviting members also gets access to the admin console.

See [Change a member's role or remove them](https://drime.cloud/support/workspaces/manage-members) to give a role to a member.
