Behind the Cloud – October 2025 Update
4 min read
October has been another big month for Drime. We’ve introduced one of the most requested features, File Requests, alongside a series of improvements and fixes across all platforms. This update also marks the continuation of our infrastructure migration, aimed at making Drime faster and more reliable for everyone.
File Requests now available
You can now create a File Request directly from any folder by right-clicking and selecting “Create File Request.”
We also added a new section under Tools → File Requests, where you can view, manage, and organize all your requests in one place.
This feature has been one of the most frequently asked for, and we’re glad to finally make it available on the web.
Web updates and fixes
Alongside File Requests, several interface and performance updates went live this month:
Collapsible Tools section in the sidebar (can now be hidden or expanded)
Multiple fixes for shared links, especially when browsing them while logged in
Faster and more reliable email notifications (signatures, invites, sharing, etc.)
Dozens of small UI tweaks and layout adjustments
Mobile – automatic photo backup almost ready
The first version of Automatic Photo Backup is now feature-complete.
We’re currently opening beta access for both Android and iOS users.
If you’d like to test it:
Send us an email at contact@drime.cloud
Keep in mind that this first version will continue to improve with each update.
We also fixed a bug preventing login for some mobile users.
Desktop – new sync engine
The complete desktop rewrite is progressing well.
It’s being built on a new sync foundation that fixes the known sync issues and adds new features like selective sync and cloud-only files on macOS.
No ETA yet, but development is active, and internal testing will begin soon.
Infrastructure and reliability
We’re continuing the migration to our new dedicated infrastructure in Europe.
This will bring major improvements in performance, upload reliability, and scalability, without any downtime during the transition. Our goal is to make updates seamless so users don’t feel the changes behind the scenes.
Closing thoughts
October was about turning feedback into action, File Requests, infrastructure improvements, and constant optimization.
We’re getting closer to the point where the core platform is fully stable, allowing us to focus more on new features again.
Thanks for your trust and patience as Drime keeps evolving.
