Behind the Cloud – September 2025 Update
4 min read
September was one of the most technical months for Drime so far. We focused on fixing dozens of bugs, improving upload and download stability, and preparing the next generation of our apps. This update brings clarity on what’s been done and what’s next.
Fixes and improvements
The past few weeks brought a long list of bug fixes, some small, others major:
Fixed Send & Track showing a blank page
Fixed shared folders (owners can now see and upload content again)
Fixed moving folders and files between folders and workspaces (no more random errors)
Strengthened API security for file downloads
Fixed Vault uploads not starting correctly
Fixed folder uploads inside Vault (folders are now properly created)
Rebuilt the large folder download system (previously some ZIPs were missing or corrupted)
Fixed icons and colors in dark mode
Fixed OnlyOffice documents being saved but moved to the root workspace (looked like they disappeared)
Fixed OnlyOffice infinite loading
Fixed file versioning for OnlyOffice files (versions now correctly displayed)
Fixed workspace invite links that didn’t work for some users
Fixed scrolling issues in Send & Track and Signatures
Improved search speed, especially in main workspaces
Reduced failed uploads even further on the web
Fixed minor layout and color consistency bugs
New features and quality-of-life updates
Added the real file count in folder info panels
Introduced a new Photo Gallery view on web: faster loading, timeline view by year/month/day (capture date sorting coming soon)
Added .HEIC image previews (fully functional on mobile, partially on web for now)
Allowed folder names shorter than 3 characters
Improved reliability of email notifications
Mobile – preparing for automatic photo uploads
On mobile, we’ve focused on rebuilding the upload engine.
The previous system had issues with large files, background uploads, and some PDF uploads failing.
The new system will support parallel uploads, better caching, and background stability, the foundation for automatic photo uploads, coming soon.
Desktop – work in progress
The desktop rewrite continues.
This version will fix all sync issues and add key features like selective sync and cloud-only files.
We prefer to take the time to ensure it’s stable from day one.
Infrastructure – long-term improvements
We’re migrating part of our storage infrastructure to a new cluster of dedicated servers.
This will allow Drime to handle much higher traffic while keeping data fully hosted in Europe.
Closing thoughts
September wasn’t about new features, it was about making everything more reliable.
We’ve focused on deep fixes, performance improvements, and building the foundation for the future.
These changes take time, but they’re essential to make Drime as solid as the biggest players, while staying fast, secure, and European.
