Resize an image in pixels or percent
Enter a width and a height in pixels, or a percentage of the original size. The other side can follow automatically, so the image keeps its proportions.
The image is resized with Lanczos3, a method that keeps photos sharp, and you can choose another one under Advanced settings. By default, an image is never enlarged, unless you ask for it: making a small photo bigger only adds blur. If you really need a larger size, turn on Allow enlarging, or choose Enlarge anyway for one image.
The resizer changes the dimensions, not the weight in KB. To make a file lighter for a form or an email, use the image compressor, which can aim for a size in KB or MB.
Ready sizes for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and YouTube
Pick a ready size and the frame is set for you: Instagram square, portrait and landscape posts and stories, Facebook page photo and cover, LinkedIn profile banner and company page cover, X header, YouTube thumbnail and channel banner, Pinterest pin and TikTok vertical image.
Each size comes from the platform's own help or advertising pages, and the page shows its source and the date it was checked. A few examples: an Instagram square post is 1080 × 1080 pixels, a LinkedIn profile banner 1584 × 396, an X header 1500 × 500 and a YouTube thumbnail 3840 × 2160.
Fit, fill or crop: keep what matters in the frame
When your photo doesn't have the frame's shape, choose how it goes in.
Fit keeps the whole image inside the frame, centered, and fills the rest with a background: transparent, white for a JPEG, or a color you choose. Fill covers the whole frame and crops what goes beyond, around a focal point, so the face or the product stays in the picture. Stretch forces the image into the frame, which distorts it.
For a post where nothing should be cut, Fit is the safe choice. For a cover or a banner, Fill gives a cleaner result.
How to resize an image in 3 steps
Add your images. Drop them on the page or choose them from your device. You can add several at once.
Choose the size. Pick a ready size for a social network, or enter pixels or a percentage, then choose Fit, Fill or Stretch.
Download the result. Download each image, or all of them in one ZIP. If a photo is smaller than the frame, it keeps its own size in the same shape, unless you choose to enlarge it, and its row shows the size you get.
Resize many images at once
Add a whole batch of photos and apply the same size to all of them: a set of product photos for a shop, pictures for a blog post, or slides for a carousel. They are resized one after the other, several at a time when your device allows it, and you can download them together in a ZIP.
The resizer reads JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, JPEG XL, TIFF (first page only), BMP, ICO, QOI, SVG and still GIF images. By default, each image keeps its format, except HEIC and TIFF, which come out as JPEG, and BMP, ICO, SVG, QOI and GIF, which come out as PNG. You can also choose JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL or QOI.
Private by design: your images never leave your device
Your images are resized inside your browser, on your device. They are never uploaded to Drime or to anyone else, which matters for personal photos and pictures you haven't published yet. Like the rest of the site, the page counts visits, but never your images.
The resizer also removes the hidden information photos carry, such as the GPS location and the camera details, and keeps each photo the right way up.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without losing quality?
Make it smaller, never bigger: reducing a photo keeps it sharp, while enlarging it only adds blur, which is why the resizer doesn't enlarge by default. Keep the default method, Lanczos3, and choose PNG, or a high quality, if you need every detail.
What size should an Instagram post be?
Instagram shows posts up to 1080 pixels wide. A square post is 1080 × 1080, a portrait post 1080 × 1350 (4:5) or 1080 × 1440 (3:4), and a landscape post 1080 × 566. For stories and Reels, Meta's specifications give 1440 × 2560 (9:16).
How do I fit a whole photo on Instagram without cropping?
Choose an Instagram size, then Fit: the whole photo stays inside the frame and the rest is filled with a background, white or the color you choose. Nothing is cut, and the photo keeps its proportions.
What is the size of a YouTube thumbnail?
YouTube recommends 3840 × 2160 pixels, in 16:9, and accepts thumbnails from 640 pixels wide. If your image is smaller than 3840 × 2160, the resizer keeps it in 16:9 at its own size, for example 1280 × 720, unless you choose to enlarge it.
What size is a LinkedIn banner?
LinkedIn's help gives 1584 × 396 pixels for the profile background photo, in PNG or JPG, up to 8 MB. A company page cover is 1512 × 256. Choose the ready size, then Fill to crop around what matters.
Can I resize several images at once?
Yes. Add all your images, choose one size for the whole batch, and download them one by one or together in a ZIP. They are resized in your browser, several at a time when your device allows it.
How do I resize an image to a size in KB?
The resizer changes the dimensions in pixels, not the weight. To get under a given weight, such as 100 KB, use the image compressor and choose Target size: it finds the quality that reaches it and, if needed, also reduces the dimensions.
Are my images uploaded to resize them?
No. Your images are resized in your browser, on your device, and they are never sent to Drime or to anyone else. The hidden information photos carry, such as the GPS location, is removed from the resized images.
