How Drime Desktop sync works
Where the Drime folder is on your computer, what it contains, how online-only files work and where to find the main sync settings in Drime Desktop.
Drime Desktop shows your Drime files in a Drime folder on your computer. Changes you make in this folder are sent to Drime, and changes made elsewhere, on the web or another computer, appear in it.
#Where the Drime folder is
Each workspace you sync has its own folder on this computer.
To open it, double-click the Drime icon in the notification area, or open the Drime window and click Open Drime folder.
To move it, see Change or reset the Drime folder location.
#Deletions sync both ways
Sync works in both directions, deletions included. As Drime Desktop warns: If you delete files from synced folders, you delete them from Drime and your PC. If you delete many files at once, Drime asks you to confirm first: see "Delete files from your Drime drive?" warning. To keep a one-way copy of a folder instead, use a backup: see Back up folders from your computer.
#Workspaces
Workspaces you sync each get their own subfolder. Choose them in Manage workspaces: see Sync several workspaces on your computer. If your role in a workspace does not allow changes, it is marked Read-only: local changes are not sent to Drime.
To link a folder that sits elsewhere on your computer, see Sync a folder from anywhere on your computer.
#Online-only by default
Files in the Drime folder are online-only by default: you see them all, but they are stored on drime.cloud and take no disk space. A file is downloaded when you open it, which needs an internet connection. You can keep any file or folder available offline. See Online-only and offline files.
#Find the settings
Click the Drime icon in the notification area to open the Drime window. Its account menu gives access to Preferences, Notifications, Issues, Open web app, Open Drime folder and Sign out. Preferences has the tabs General, Sync, Storage, Network, Notifications, Support and others. The main sync settings are in Preferences > Sync.
#Know the sync status
Hover over the Drime icon in the notification area. The tooltip tells you whether Drime is synced, syncing (with the number of files), paused, offline, or has a sync problem. See Check your sync status.
