Manage files in a workspace and restrict access
How files are shared inside a Drime workspace, and how to hide a file or folder from specific members with Restrict access.
In a team workspace, members see the workspace's files according to their role. You can still share items with specific people, and hide an item from some members.
#Share inside the workspace
Share files and folders as usual, with Share: see Share a file or folder with people. If you enter the address of someone who is not a member, Drime warns you that this address is not on your team before you continue.
#Hide an item from some members
Open Restrict access.
Turn on the switch next to each member who should not see the item.
The panel reads Toggle on to remove a member's access to this file and its contents.

Access restricted confirms it. The member no longer sees the item or anything inside it, including in their Shared page. Turn the switch off to give access back: Access restored.
You cannot restrict the item's owner, the workspace owner or yourself.
#Files from your personal space
To bring files from your personal space into the workspace, use Move to and choose the workspace with the selector at the bottom of the dialog. See Move files between workspaces. Whose storage the workspace's files use is explained in How storage works in a workspace.
#If it doesn't work
What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
Cannot restrict the entry owner. | The member you chose owns the item: their access cannot be removed. |
Cannot restrict yourself. | You cannot hide an item from yourself. |
The address is not on your team | You are sharing with someone outside the workspace. Check the address, or continue if you mean to share with them. |
The member still sees the item | Check that the switch next to them is on in Restrict access. Restricting a folder also hides everything inside it. |
