Delete files and folders
Delete files and folders in Drime: they go to the Trash first, where you can restore them. How to delete for good, and who can delete your files.
When you delete a file or a folder, it goes to the Trash, where you can still get it back for 30 days. It is gone for good once you delete it permanently, or after those 30 days.
#Delete files or folders
Select the files or folders.
Click Delete in the selection bar, or right-click and choose Delete.
You can also press Delete or Backspace.

Drime does not ask for confirmation: the items go straight to the Trash, and Moved 1 item to trash appears with Undo for a few seconds. Click Undo to put them back at once.
#What happens next
Items in the Trash still count toward your storage.
Their share links stop working while they are in the Trash. If you restore an item, its links and everyone's access come back.
To restore an item, see Restore deleted files from the Trash.
#Delete for good
In the sidebar, open Trash, right-click the item and choose Delete permanently, then confirm in Delete permanently?. To delete everything in the Trash, click Empty trash.

This cannot be undone. Deleting an item permanently also removes its share links and everyone's access to it.
#Who can delete your files
People you share with can't delete your files: sharing never gives the right to delete. They can only leave the share. In a workspace, members whose role allows deleting can delete their colleagues' files. See What happens to a share when you move, rename or delete the item.

Backup folders are read-only. Changes can only be made on your local device. | The file is in a computer backup: delete it on that computer. |
You deleted something by mistake | Click Undo right away, or restore it from the Trash. |
The space did not come back | Deleted items count until the Trash is emptied. See Why my storage used doesn't match my files. |
