When a signer declines
What happens when someone refuses to sign your document in Drime Sign, where to read their reason, and how to invite them again with Resubmit.
A signer can refuse to sign your document, with or without a reason. One refusal stops the request for everyone. You can then invite that signer again with Resubmit.
#What happens when a signer declines
You receive an email telling you the signer declined.
In Tools > Sign, the signer shows Declined on the document. Their reason, if they wrote one, appears under their name, in quotes.
The request is declined for everyone: the other signers can no longer sign it.
The refusal is written to the audit trail, with its date.

A signer who has already signed cannot decline afterwards. To see what the signer sees, read Sign a document you received.
#Invite the signer again
If the signer changes their mind, or after you have fixed what they objected to:
In Tools > Sign, open the declined document.
Under the signer, click Resubmit.
Invitation re-sent confirms it.

The signer then:
receives a new invitation email, with a new link valid for 30 days. The previous link no longer works;
starts from empty fields: what they had filled in before is cleared. Their email address and the fields assigned to them stay the same.
The request goes back to Pending, and the other signers can sign again.
#If it doesn't work
What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
Resubmit is missing | Only the sender of the request sees it, and only for a signer who declined. |
The signer did not receive the new invitation | Ask them to look in their spam folder. You can also copy their link and send it yourself: see Share a signing link yourself. |
