What happens to the share

Rename or move the item

Everyone keeps their access, and the share link keeps working: it follows the item.

Move a file out of a shared folder

The file stays shared with the people it was shared with directly, but the folder's link no longer reaches it.

Move it to another workspace

People you shared it with directly keep their access, and the share link keeps working. Members of the old workspace lose the access they had through it; members of the new one get access according to their role. See Move files between workspaces.

Put the item in the Trash

Its link shows Page not found until you restore it.

Restore it from the Trash

The same access and the same link come back. An item is restored only if its folder still exists.

Delete it permanently, or leave it 30 days in the Trash

Access and the link are removed for good.

Delete your Drime account

Everything you own is deleted for good, and your links stop working.

#Can the people I share with delete my files?

No. Sharing gives view, edit or download rights, never the right to delete your files. In a workspace, members whose role allows deleting can move colleagues' files to the workspace Trash.

#Leave a share

If something is shared with you, you can remove it from your Shared page: Leave folder for a folder, Remove from shared for several items. Left folder confirms it. This only removes your own access: the owner's files are not touched. See Find files shared with you and leave a share.

The Shared page, Shared with me tab, with a shared folder and its owner

#Remove someone's access

Only the owner can remove another person's access, with Unshare or from Who has access. See Change or remove access and stop sharing.

To bring back an item from the Trash, see Restore deleted files from the Trash.
