Find files shared with you and leave a share

Find the files and folders other people shared with you in the Shared page, see what you shared yourself, and remove a share you no longer need.

Updated Web

Everything that people share with you, and everything you share, is gathered in the Shared page.

#Find shared items

  1. In the sidebar, click Shared.

  2. Choose a tab:

    • Shared with me: items other people shared with you;

    • Shared by me: your items shared with people or with an active share link.

The Shared page on the Shared with me tab, with folders shared by Emma Laurent and Alex Morgan
  3. To narrow the list, use the Type, Extension, Created by or Last updated filters.

What you can do with each item depends on the access level you were given: see Sharing permissions explained.

#Remove a share from your list

If you no longer need an item someone shared with you:

  1. In Shared with me, right-click the item.

  2. Choose Leave folder for a folder, or Remove file for a file.

With several items selected, choose Remove from shared.

You can also select the item and click Leave folder in the bar above the list.

This only removes your own access. The item is not deleted for its owner or for the other people it is shared with. To get it back, ask the owner to share it with you again.

#If it doesn't work

What you see

What to do

The item is not in Shared with me

Check that you are signed in with the email address it was shared with. If it is, the owner may have stopped sharing it or removed your access: ask them.

You can open the item but not change it

You have Can view or Can Download access. Ask the owner for Can edit: see Sharing permissions explained.

You left a share by mistake

Ask the owner to share it with you again.
