Share from the app
Share a file or folder with people from the Drime app, get a link, protect it, and ask others to send you files with a file request.
From the Drime app, you can share a file or folder with people, get a link to it, or ask others to upload files to one of your folders.
#Share with people
Under Add people, enter an email address, or pick one of your recent contacts.
Choose what they can do: Can view (the default), Can download or Can edit.
The full sharing screen, under Who has access, lists the people who have access. You can change a person's level or remove them there.
#Get a link
Get link, in the ⋮ menu, creates the link and copies it at once.
In Share the file, Copy link does the same.
When you share from a file preview, Share sends the link through your phone's share menu, for example to a messaging app. The file itself is never sent as an attachment: people open it through the link.
#Protect a link
In Share the file, tap ⋮, then Link settings:
Allow edition: lets people with the link edit a whiteboard or a page;
Allow downloads: let visitors download the file, or only view it;
Require password: visitors type a password before they open the link;
an expiration date, up to 365 days (7 days by default);
the Send & Track switch, to track who opens the link;
an option to delete the link.
The password and the expiration date need a paid plan. On the free plan, the app shows Upgrade to manage advanced settings with Drime Essentials.
#Ask for files with a file request
Set the request: a title (the folder's name by default), a description if you want, a deadline (just before midnight by default), whether files sent after the deadline are accepted (not by default), a link expiration and a password.
The files people send go into that folder. To see your requests, go to More > File Requests: you can search them, copy their link, invite people, edit or delete a request.
