Restore deleted files from the Trash
Deleted files and folders go to the Trash first. Find them there, restore them to where they were, or delete them permanently to free up space.
When you delete a file or folder, it is moved to the Trash, where it stays for 30 days. You can put it back where it was, or delete it permanently. After 30 days, Drime deletes it permanently.
#Undo a deletion right away
Right after you delete something, the message Moved 1 item to trash appears with an Undo button. Click it to put the item back immediately.
#Restore from the Trash
In the sidebar, click Trash.

Find the item.
To narrow the list, use the Type, Extension, Deleted by or Date deleted filters.
Right-click the item and choose Restore.

Restored 1 item confirms it, and the item goes back to the folder it was deleted from. Restoring a folder brings back everything that was inside it. If an item with the same name is already there, a number is added to the restored item's name, for example Report (1).pdf.
To restore several items at once, select them and click Restore in the selection bar.
Files deleted from a computer backup are in the Backups tab of the Trash. For those, choose Restore to… and pick where to put them.
#Delete permanently
Items in the Trash still count toward your storage. To free up the space:
to delete some items, right-click them and choose Delete permanently. In Delete permanently?, click Delete permanently: Permanently deleted 1 item appears;
to delete everything, click Empty trash, then Empty trash again in Empty trash?: Trash emptied appears.

#Good to know
You can still download items that are in the Trash.
In a workspace, the Trash is shared: the owner, or a member allowed to delete files, can empty it for everyone.
#If it doesn't work
What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
The item is not in the Trash | It may have been deleted permanently, or the Trash was emptied. In a workspace, use the Deleted by filter to see who deleted what. To get an earlier state of a file that still exists, see Restore a previous version of a file. |
This folder is in your trash | You opened a deleted folder. Restore it to use what is inside. |
Files deleted from a backup cannot go back into it, because a backup only mirrors your computer. Restore them to a folder of your Drive instead. | Choose Restore to… and pick a folder of your Drive. Choose a folder outside your backups. appears if you pick a folder inside a backup. |
Unable to restore items | The restore failed. In a workspace, restoring needs the right to delete files: ask the workspace owner. Otherwise try again, then contact support. |
