Build databases, boards and calendars

A database in Pages is a set of rows with properties, such as a status, a date or an owner. You can show the same rows in several views: a grid, a Kanban board, a calendar, a timeline and more.

#Insert a database

1. In a page, type /.

2. Under Databases, choose the view to start with.

   The choices are Grid, Board, Gallery, Calendar, Timeline, Chart, List and Form.

   

#Add rows and properties

• Click New row in the database toolbar to add a row.

• In a grid, click the + at the right of the header row (New property) to add a column.

Properties can hold text, numbers, single or multiple choices, dates, checkboxes, checklists, links, email addresses, phone numbers, files and people. Some fill themselves in: the time a row was created or last edited, and by whom. Others link or compute: relations to another database, rollups and formulas.

To change a property, click its header, then Edit property. You can also hide it with Hide property.

#Add a view

1. Click Add a view (the + next to the view tabs).

2. Choose the type of view.

   

Use Filter, Sort and Group, in the database toolbar, to narrow down and arrange the rows.

#Collect answers with a form

In a Form view, add your questions, then click Publish and get the link. The link is copied to your clipboard. Answers appear in the Responses tab.

In the form settings, Who can respond sets who can answer: Anyone with the link (no account needed), Signed-in people (a Drime account is required) or Workspace members only.

#Export a database

In the database toolbar, click Copy and export, then Download CSV, or Copy to clipboard to paste the rows elsewhere.
