Open a file in a new tab, Quick view or an app on your computer

Use Open in to open a Drime file in a new browser tab, in the preview, in Quick view, or in an app on your computer through Drime Desktop.

Updated Web

Right-click a file and choose Open in to pick where it opens: a new browser tab, the Drime preview, Quick view, or an app on your computer.

#Choose where a file opens

  1. Right-click the file and choose Open in.

  2. Pick an option:

    • Open in new tab: the file's preview opens in a new browser tab.

    • Preview (Drime): the preview opens in the current tab.

    • Quick view: the file opens in the side panel. If the side panel was off, it is turned on.

    • Open with followed by an app's name, or Open with default app: the file opens in an app on your computer. These options appear only when Drime Desktop is running on this computer. See the app on your computer.

    • For a PDF, Open in followed by your browser's name: the PDF opens in your browser's own viewer.

For a folder, Open in offers Open in new tab and Quick view.

#Open a file in an app on your computer

When Drime Desktop is installed and running on the computer you're using, Open in also offers Open with followed by an app's name, or Open with default app. Drime Desktop then opens the file in that app on your computer.

These options are hidden when Drime Desktop hasn't been connected on this computer in the last 5 minutes, or when you use Drime on another computer. To install it, see Install, update or uninstall Drime Desktop.
