Find files with search
Find a file by its name or by the text inside it, then narrow the results by type, date, person, tag or sharing status.
Search looks through the names of your files and folders, and through the text inside your documents.
#Search
Click the search bar at the top, Search files and folders, or press /.
Type a word from the name or from the content of the file.
Suggestions appear under the bar as you type. Press Enter to see all the results.

Open a result, or narrow the list with the filters.

#Search names, content or both
By default, Drime searches Name and content. Under Search in, you can choose Name only or Content only.
Content search reads the text inside PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX) and PowerPoint (PPTX) files.
#Filter the results
You can narrow the results by:
type and extension;
the person who created the item;
tag;
date created or last updated;
items in the Trash;
items with a share link, or items you shared.
To tag files so you can find them by tag later, see Organise with Starred, tags, colours and Quick access.
#If it doesn't work
What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
No matching results | Check the spelling, try a shorter word, or a word from the file's name. If filters are set, remove them. Under Search in, choose Name and content. |
The file is in a computer backup | Backups are not searched. Open the backup and browse to the file. |
The file is in the Vault | The text inside Vault files is never indexed: search for the file's name instead. |
The file was deleted | Turn on the In trash filter, or look in the Trash. |
If the file seems to have disappeared, see My files are missing.
#Good to know
Files in your computer backups are not included in search.
The content of Vault files is never indexed, so content search does not cover them.
If you cannot find a file, check the Trash: it may have been deleted. See Restore deleted files from the Trash.
